Mizoram State Ranking 2007

MIZORAM STATE RANKING according to
India today Sept 24th Special Issue.

2004 - 3

2005 - 4

2006 – 5

2007 – 5

With a point score of 2.51 – if both big and small states were to be listed – Mizoram would rank 7th among the 30 states of India. It is important not too read too much from the ranking as they aren’t very good indices for performance – Mizoram’s performance for certain indices could be better than 2004 but it rank remaining the same – Consumer Market, Budget because other states have also improved their performance

The Editors of India today have pointed out the co-relation of Mizoram’s high literacy with it’s high per capita income – compared to Bihar’s low literacy and income level.

Primary Education is the Only Parameter where Mizoram has Improved, Mizoram has gone down in ranking in terms of Law and Order, Health, Agriculture and Investment – Will the State Government and the Concerned Ministers take notice – Let’s hope our politicians stress more on Development and not only on Populism which will not help them in the long term.

( The MNF Government Started in 2003, the ranking of Mizoram has gradually been decreasing instead of increasing – is there any correlation with the present Government in Mizoram?)
